Arc Entertainment & Xlrator Media Acquire Graystone

LOS ANGELES (February 4, 2012) –ARC Entertainment and XLrator Media have acquired all domestic rights to the supernatural horror film GRAYSTONE by actor-writer-director Sean Stone, which will be released in the U.S. this Fall.

“As with recent horror hits The Devil Inside and Insidious, we can’t wait to scare audiences senseless with this terrifying film based on the infamous Graystone legend, whose haunting story continues to unfold,” said XLrator Media’s Barry Gordon.

The son of Academy Award®-winning director Oliver Stone, Sean has appeared as an actor in all of his father’s films from Salvador to Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. He has directed and produced the DVD documentaries for Alexander starring Angelina Jolie and Colin Farrell, and has acted in, directed and produced several short films. GRAYSTONE is his feature directorial debut.

GRAYSTONE stars Sean Stone, Oliver Stone, Alexander Wraith, Antonella Lentini, John Schramm, Monique Zordan and Monique Van Vooren. It was written by Stone and Alex Wraith and produced by Giulia Prenna of Mind the GAP Productions and Kaila York of Headlong Entertainment. The deal was negotiated by Gordon, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and Marina Fuentes of 6 Sales, which co-repped the US with CAA. 6 Sales is handling international sales.

Based on true events, the film follows three aspiring filmmakers trying to document unexplainable events in an abandoned insane asylum known as Graystone.  Urban legend has it that anyone who ventures into the forsaken hospital will suffer the consequences and face their own horrors.  The trio stumble across a mysterious realm of escaped patients, ghosts and demonic shadows, as they try to uncover the truth behind Graystone.

Recent ARC Entertainment/XLRator Media releases include Ironclad, John Carpenter’s The Ward, Bunraku, Killing Bono and the award-winning Sundance documentary Knuckle.

It was at a dinner table dare on an eerie October night that a group of friends first asked, “Do you believe in ghosts?” Alex Wraith piqued Sean Stone’s curiosity about an abandoned insane asylum which Alex had been exploring. Alex promised proof of the paranormal, so Sean agreed to break into this hospital at night. Sean brought along a girlfriend, Antonella, who seemed equally intrigued by the supernatural. As the three began their journey, Alex taunted them with stories of an escaped lunatic named Billy Lasher who still roamed the empty corridors and demonic “shadows” that can possess a person’s mind. While exploring the asylum, they hear noises and see things that challenge not only their faith in each other, but their own sanity. As they venture deeper into the “dark side” of fear and paranoia, they discover that even if they don’t lose their lives inside, they may lose something more precious – their souls.
