Xlrator Media Discovers Bigfoot In The Lost Coast Tapes

LOS ANGELES (May 23, 2012) – XLrator Media has acquired North American rights to the cinema verite-style Bigfoot horror/thriller THE LOST COAST TAPES, which it will release in U.S. theaters this Fall.

Shot on location in an area of Northern California which has the world’s largest concentration of Bigfoot sightings and based on real accounts of locals, THE LOST COAST TAPES reveals a new truth about America’s oldest living legend.

“The Bigfoot legend has captured the American imagination for over a century and refuses to die. We are excited to enthrall and scare audiences silly with this fresh, fun and terrifying take on the infamous Bigfoot story,” said XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon.

Directed by Corey Grant (Dysfunctional Friends), THE LOST COAST TAPES stars Drew Rausch, Rich McDonald, Ashley Wood, Noah Weisberg and Frank Ashmore. It was written by Brian Kelsey and Bryan O’Cain and produced by New Breed Entertainment’s Corey Grant, Chevez Frazier and Chris Beal. The acquisition was negotiated by sales rep Continental Media partners Matthew Shreder and James Andrew Felts with Gordon.

“With the current success of Animal Planet’s ‘Finding Bigfoot’ and the continuing interest in the POV genre as demonstrated by the success of The Devil Inside, Chronicle and the Paranormal Activity series, THE LOST COAST TAPES has tremendous potential,” says Shreder.

One fan of the film is “Finding Bigfoot” host James “Bobo” Faye, who says “THE LOST COAST TAPES is one of the best movies about Bigfoot that I have ever seen. It’s really fun and entertaining, but at the end of the day it brings up some real questions that we in the Bigfoot community have been talking about for years.”

In the film, Sean Reynolds (Rausch), a disgraced investigative TV reporter, is on a mission to debunk famed “Bigfoot Hunter” Carl Drybeck (Ashmore), who claims to possess the body of a dead Sasquatch. When Sean and his crew arrive in Northern California, they are immediately thrilled – Drybeck’s zealous belief in his hoax is going to make for a wildly entertaining episode of campy paranormal TV. However, when Drybeck’s hunting partner is mysteriously attacked, the team is left alone and reality begins to set in. The evidence is stacking up, Drybeck’s theory may not be a hoax, and the existence of Bigfoot might just be the least of their worries.
