LOS ANGELES (Nov. 2, 2012) – XLrator Media has acquired all U.S. rights to the dark horror comedy, INBRED, represented by Darclight Films, the edgy genre-driven arm of Arclight Films.  The film stars Jo Hartley (This is England, Ill Manors, Dead Men’s Shoes), James Doherty (Deviation, Footballer’s Wives, Eastenders),Seamus O’Neill (War Horse) and James Burrows (Skins, Robin Hood, Eden Lake, This is England).  INBRED is directed by Alex Chandon (Cradle of Fear, Pervirella) and written by Chandon and Paul Shrimpton. XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon announced the deal today.

INBRED follows four young urban offenders and their care workers as they embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides itself on keeping to itself. Visiting the local pub, ‘The Dirty Hole’ which serves homemade (and suspiciously hairy) pork scratchings, they quickly realize they’ve made the wrong holiday choice. A minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved.

INBRED was produced by Yazid Benfeghoul, Michael Kraetzer and Margaret Milner Schmueck and executive produced by Chandon, Benfeghoul and Kraetzer.

The deal was negotiated by Clay Epstein on behalf of Arclight Films and Gordon on behalf of XLrator Media.

The film played to highly enthusiastic audiences at Toronto After Dark in October and has won a number of festival awards including Best Film at the Grossman Film Festival and Best Special Effects at the Bram Stoker Film Festival.
